Received my copy of Crisis Core : Final Fantasy VII in the post today, been playing it none stop. Its a great addition to the Final Fantasy VII universe with plenty of references to the previous game/movie Advent Children. I’d wholeheartedly recommend it to fans of the game. Oh and in case your wondering it was only released in Europe on Monday 16th June.

Seven years prior to the events of Final Fantasy VII

The Shinra Company is rapidly increasing its influence through its monopoly on mako energy and military might. With the burgeoning cirt of Midgar as its base and symbol of prosperity, Shinra is on the verge of estabilishing absolute dominance over the world.

SOLDIER is a group of skilled combat operatives within Shinra. The elite within the group – those strong enough to be deemed SOLDIER 1st Class – are respected and idolised by the citizenry.

Zack is a young SOLDIER 2nd Class who aspires to become a 1st. He spends his days carrying out assignments under the guidance of his 1st Class mentor, Angeal.

During an operation in Wutai, a large number of SOLDIER members, led by 1st Class operative Genesis, go missing. The severity of the situation promts Shinra executives to deploy even more SOLDIER operatives in hopes of bringing an end to the war with Wutai-and conducting the investigation into the mass desertion. The ones assigned to the mission are Zack. Angeal, and the 1st Class hero who is known the world over as Sephiroth…

The image pictured at the top of this screen is a the per-order special edition. Whilst fans of the series would relish the opportunity for the ‘art-book’ included, its not necessary for those on the fence about buying it. (Thats a polite way of saying the special edition is a bit lackluster)

Konami have released pictures Limited Edition version of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots for the PLAYSTATION. My previous post on the LE MGS4 appears to have been a rumor/photoshop. Click the image for full size.

What you can see in the image above, in addition to the game, is a making of Blu-ray disc, the original soundtrack to the game and a six-inch figurine of Old Snake (pictured below). Eight days to go…

Brad Jayakody was recently stopped from boarding a plane at London Heathrow Terminal 5, for wearing a FCUK transformers t-shirt depicting Optimus Prime.

Go through security, get pulled to the side. I’m wearing a French Connection Transformers t-shirt. Bloke starts joking with me is that Megatron. Then he explains that since Megatron is holding a gun, I’m not allowed to fly. WTF? It’s a 40 foot tall cartoon robot with a gun as an arm. There is no way this shirt is offensive in any way, and what I’m going to use the shirt to pretend I have a gun?

Luckily he was able to change and board the flight, but not before the security guard had finished hassling him. Actually I own this t-shirt too, it doesn’t look in the slightest bit ‘dangerous’, I guess its just another example of security going one step to far?

I’m not normally one for passing on rumours but seeing as its only 2 weeks away before the release of the MGS4 Guns of the Patriots European limited edition box-set, I thought I’d pass it on.

Here are two (albeit) small images of the limited edition box-set. Please note this is unconfirmed until further notice from Konami.

This fight sequence scene from the film “The Protector” staring Tony Jaa (of Ong Bak fame) contains one of the best single take shots in a film.

It was shot using a ’steady cam’ and lasts nearly 4 minutes with no cuts or edits.

PS3Fanboy recently posted an article outlining the upcoming signing of pre-order MGS4 games by Hideo Kojima.

Fans making it down to The HMV London store at 150 Oxford Street on June 2nd will be able to purchase “pre-release sleeve” for the upcoming PS3-exclusive Metal Gear Solid: Guns of the Patriots. Yoji Shinkawa, lead artist of the series, will also be present for the signing.

It appears you’ll have to arrive early as only 300 sleeves will be available subject to a £5 deposit and on a first come first serve basis.
